Terms and conditions
These terms apply to purchases in the Bílapro online store.
1. Seller

2. Scope
Purchases by consumers are governed by the Icelandic Consumer Contracts Act no. 16/2016 and the Consumer Sales Act no. 48/2003. Purchases by businesses are governed by the Sale of Goods Act no. 50/2000. These terms do not limit consumers’ mandatory rights.
3. Order and contract
A contract is formed when the customer confirms an order with an obligation to pay and the store sends a confirmation by e-mail. The confirmation contains the order, prices, delivery and payment method, these terms, the information on the right of withdrawal and the model withdrawal form.
The store may cancel an order if a product turns out to be out of stock or the price is obviously wrong; any payment is then refunded in full.
4. Prices
All prices are in Icelandic króna and include 24% VAT. The same prices apply to all customers. Delivery charges are shown before the order is confirmed.
5. Payment
Invoice for business customers approved by the store.
6. Delivery
No delivery methods have been set up yet.
Risk passes to the buyer when the buyer, or a person the buyer names, receives the goods.
7. Right of withdrawal
Consumers may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving a reason (Act no. 16/2016). See the Returns page, which also contains a model withdrawal form.
8. Defects and complaints
If goods are defective the consumer is entitled to repair, replacement, a price reduction or cancellation under Act no. 48/2003. The complaint period is two years from delivery, or five years for goods intended to last substantially longer. A defect must be notified within a reasonable time after it is discovered.
For businesses, Act no. 50/2000 applies.
9. Safety and chemical products
Many products are intended for professionals and are classified as hazardous. Hazard information is shown on the product page and a safety data sheet (SDS) is provided where applicable. Read the label and SDS before use and wear suitable protective equipment.
10. Privacy
The processing of personal data is described in the store’s privacy policy.
11. Disputes
Disputes should first be resolved by agreement. Consumers may also refer a dispute to the Icelandic Consumer Complaints Committee (Kærunefnd vöru- og þjónustukaupa, www.kvth.is). Icelandic law applies and cases are heard by Icelandic courts.
